We’re throwing the ultimate group-costume showdown—crews of 3+ will battle it out in a high-energy, crowd-judged contest where the loudest cheers decide the champions. Retro fits, movie icons, villains, memes, sparkles, spooky vibes—if your crew can dream it, you can compete for the $500 cash prize and the bragging rights that come with winning it all. Costumes, chaos, creativity—bring it.

How It Works

  • Crews of 3+ people create any theme they want.

  • Check-in: Registration begins at 9pm

  • Contest: 11:30 PM. Each crew gets 20–30 seconds to show off.

  • Judging: Crowd noise

  • 1st Place: $500 cash

  • 2nd Place: $100 Steel Creek Gift Card

CREW CLASH – OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

1. Eligibility

  • Contest is open to guests age 21+.

  • Participants must be physically present at Steel Creek during the contest.

  • All crew members must be on-site and in costume at the time of judging.

2. Crew Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 people per crew.

  • No maximum crew size, but the group must be able to take the stage together.

  • All crew members must follow their chosen theme.

  • Themes must be appropriate for a public setting. No nudity or inappropriate attire. 

3. Theme & Costume Guidelines

  • Any theme is allowed: retro, movie characters, villains, memes, sparkly, spooky, ironic, etc.

  • Costumes must not include:

    • Real or replica weapons

    • Dangerous props

    • Confetti, glitter bombs, or items that create excessive mess

4. Registration

  • Registration is free and takes place in-venue on the night of the event.

  • All crew members must register together.

  • Crews must register before the cut-off time of 11pm

5. Contest Format

  • Crews will be announced and called to the dancefloor when the contest begins.

  • Each crew will walk or perform across the dancefloor for crowd visibility.

  • Hosts may ask crews to briefly describe their theme.

  • Contest is crowd-judged—the crew receiving the loudest reaction moves forward.

  • Hosts and staff reserve the right to break ties or re-run applause rounds if needed.

6. Judging Criteria

While the final winner is determined by crowd applause, the following factors influence audience perception:

  • Creativity: How original or well-executed the theme is.

  • Cohesion: How well the crew matches and presents a unified concept.

  • Energy: Stage presence, enthusiasm, and crowd engagement.

  • Visual Impact: Costumes, styling, and overall "wow" factor.

7. Prize Details

  • Winning crew receives $500 cash.

  • Prize is awarded to the crew collectively; distribution among members is up to the group.

  • Runner up crew will receive $100 Steel Creek gift card

8. Conduct & Safety

  • All participants must follow Steel Creek rules and staff instructions.

  • Aggressive behavior, unsafe actions, or stage disruptions may result in disqualification.

  • Crews found violating venue policies (weapons, drugs, harassment, etc.) are immediately removed from the contest.

9. Photography & Media

  • By entering, participants agree to being photographed, filmed, and recorded.

  • Steel Creek may use images/video for marketing, social media, and promotional purposes without additional compensation.

10. Disqualification

Steel Creek reserves the right to disqualify any crew for:

  • Unsafe or inappropriate behavior

  • Offensive themes or hate symbolism

  • Violation of venue policies

  • Attempting to manipulate the judging process

11. Final Authority

  • All decisions by event hosts and management are final.

  • Steel Creek reserves the right to modify contest structure based on time constraints or safety needs.
